Building with Sustainable Materials and Techniques
At Treby Build, building sustainable houses is important to us. It doesn’t have to be more expensive to build a house that is kinder on the environment, it’s about building smarter.
We always encourage our clients to consider things such as passive solar design, whereby the house is orientated around the sun. This is to ensure that the amount of sunlight that gets into the house in winter is maximised whilst the hot summer sun is kept out. Thermal mass in the house can take advantage of the winter sun and assist in keeping the house warm, whilst cross ventilation breezeways will help keep the house cool in the hotter months.
We also like to use materials that are sustainably, ethically and ideally locally sourced. Using recycled materials is a way to build sustainably but also reduce cost and add character to your home.
We have worked in collaboration with many local eco designers and architects who are familiar with and promote the use all these techniques. If you’d like to discuss how we can build your home in the most environmentally friendly way possible, give me, Phil, a call on 0418756937.
